The challenge
Metro de Lisboa set out to strengthen its commitment to sustainability, not just externally but by actively involving its workforce.
The company aimed to:
- Raise awareness of its internal sustainability policies.
- Reduce its environmental impact through employee engagement.
- Promote sustainable habits that reflected the organization’s values.
- Boost employee satisfaction and strengthen their connection with the company’s mission.
The solution
By implementing the latest version of the DoGood platform, Metropolitano de Lisboa launched an internal sustainability program focused on learning, engagement, and direct alignment with the company’s strategic Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely SDG 9, 13, 16 and 5.
The program featured educational capsules and thematic challenges, integrating a storytelling approach that tied each activity to Metro de Lisboa’s strategic objectives. The initiative also included custom campaigns such as distributing reusable bottles and mugs, supporting União Zoófila, and launching the solidarity campaign “Kanimambo”.
We realized that sustainability had to be more than a message, it needed to become a lived experience embraced by every team member.
